KidsTown Drop-in Child Care is committed to providing high quality, clean and safe child care for our families of Colorado. Each center continues to stay up-to-date with the latest state and local guidelines, licensing requirements, and CDC guidelines. Each center has updated their existing policies to ensure the health and safety of the staff and children who visit our centers. Changes to our current policies include:
All centers are currently operating with modified hours. Please contact your local center for more information. Reservations are highly encouraged or required.
Each child and staff member complete a health screening upon arrival to the center
Increased practices of sanitizing and disinfecting high touch surfaces and objects that are frequently touched throughout the day. This includes cleaning objects/surfaces not ordinarily cleaned daily such as doorknobs, light switches, sink handles, countertops, mats, toilet’s, desks, tables, chairs, cubbies, table time activities and toys.
Children and staff are required to wash their hands for a mininum of 20 seconds with soap and warm water. Handwashing is required upon arrival to the center at at each transition throughout the day.
All Staff is required to wear a face covering when in close proximity of children. Children are encouraged to wear a face-covering but it not required.
All staff has completed additional training on how to recognize common sign of illness in children
Children with the following symptoms will not be allowed into the center. If your child is exhibiting symptoms not listed below, please contact your local center for futher instruction.
o Fever over 100.4F with behavior change or other symptoms: Children must remain home for 72 hours after fever is gone without medicine that reduces fever
o Coughing - Persistent and accompanied by other symptoms: Children must remain at home for 7 days minimum from onset of symptoms
o “Flu-Like” Symptoms (Cough or sore throat with Fever over 100.4F): Children must remain home for 72 hours after fever is gone without medicine that reduces fever
o Mild Respiratory or Cold Symptoms: Children must remain at home for 7 days minimum from the onset of symptoms
o Rash with additional symptoms: Please contact your child’s doctor. Children can return to the center with doctor note.
o Strep Throat: Children must remain home for 24 hours after starting antibiotics.
o Croup: Children may attend if they are able to take part of center activities with doctor approval.
o Diarrhea: Children must remain at home if they have had more than 2 loose stools not caused by food or medicine. They must remain home for 48 hours after the child stops exhibiting symptoms.
o Throwing Up more than two times in the past 24 hours: Children must remain at home until 24 hours after vomiting stops, or a doctor says it is not contagious
